Our experience with Beautiful Together Animal Sanctuary has been nothing short of amazing!! With the recent loss of our two beloved senior citizen dogs, we were on the lookout for a puppy to bring home. As luck would have it, we became aware of a litter of puppies and their mom that had been rescued by Beautiful Together and would be available several weeks later. This gave us the chance to make the decision that we were ready to bring a puppy into our home and to visit the litter a few times to see which one would be the best fit! Ferrell Carpenter was the foster mom and welcomed us to her home several times to play with the puppies and to finalize our decision. She could not have been a better foster and a more welcoming host when we visited the puppies. Ultimately, we decided on a beautiful little girl, now called Rosie, who has electrified our house in all the best ways! Rosie is a great fit and is bonding nicely with all of our other animals on our mini-farm.

"I first heard about Beautiful Together Animal Sanctuary in December of last year. I, like all of us, felt a heavyweight of a disrupted and tumultuous world and wanted to find a way to make a difference and create a loving and healthy world.
I decided to volunteer with BTAS in any way I could for this reason. Plus animals just love you and don’t want to discuss politics. I jumped in: I adopted a kitten. I transported animals from shelters to fosters. I fostered a dog.
On adopting: look at that face! How could I resist. Little Junior Brown became an instant source of snuggling and ridiculous entertainment in my home. He plays with the dog, the cat, wine corks, bugs, the broom. Everyone needs a kitten to remind you about pure play enjoyment.
On Transporting:
Many of the animals come from shelters with high kill rates. Knowing that I am driving these babies away from an uncertain future to life in a caring new home is all I need to go on a cat and dog delivery adventure. Even if someone gets a little carsick or keeps poking me in the back of the head through the crate door, this important part of rescue is an enjoyable way to contribute to the process.
On fostering:
I have had a lot of reservations about fostering. It’s scary to bring an unknown animal to your home not knowing their past, how they’ll get along with everyone, what their training is and isn’t. I brought Paloma to my house because I knew she was scared and had spent most of not all of her life outside. I had a nice outdoor space and shelter to offer for her to decompress and relax for a short time to get a better idea of who she is as a dog. She’s been with me for 3 weeks and I am giving her as much love and attention as I am able. She is blossoming and starting to relax. It’s clear she has come from a rough background and has a ways to go but with love and patience, she is going to make a wonderful companion for someone.
It is incredibly rewarding to know I have been part of creating a safe and loving world for all of these animals. Beautiful Together Animal Sanctuary is a wonderful team to be a part of!"
